Talk In Colour – The Cell (single) (NightCabin Records)

Sitting somewhere between the recently released Davidge solo album, Lamb, and Portishead is The Cell – the new single from London five piece, Talk In Colour.

Fusing together dark and cinematic electronica and rock with folk-inflected vocal melodies, The Cell is an evocative tune with an understated coolness and beauty.

The song’s melodies are catchy but understated. The Cell opts not for predictability nor does it go straight for the jugular yet its ability to embed itself deep into your brain works just the same.

Vocally, Mary Erskine reminds us of Ellie Rowsell from the hotly tipped fellow Londoners Wolf Alice displaying a similar grace and ability to construct flowing melodies in a seemingly effortless manner.

Gorgeously lush, if The Cell is anything to go by Talk In Colour are definitely ones to keep a good watch of.

The Cell will be released as a single on April 20, 2014.
