Say Lou Lou – Julian (single) (à Deux)

Since releasing their dreamy debut single “Maybe You” through the French label Kitsuné in August 2012, Say Lou Lou have gone to share the stage throughout Europe with the likes of Twin Shadow, Kindness, Ariel Pink and HURTS.

Most recently the Australian/Swedish twins, Elektra and Miranda Kilbey, started their own label,  à Deux, with its first release being the new Say Lou Lou single, “Julian”.

“Julian” is a mid-paced dreamy electronic-pop number with hushed, layered vocals – think Sweden’s Sportsman with a smidge of “Daniel” by Bat For Lashes.

The song utilizes standard, tried-and-true pop smarts but its real appeal lies in its moodiness and warmth, which lure the listener in. Tantalizing stuff.

“Julian” will be released on vinyl and as a download on 6 May, 2013. Remixes on the digital release will come from Dan Lissvik, Martin Dubka, Monsieur Adi & Checan, while the B-side on the vinyl will be “Fool Of Me” featuring acclaimed fellow Australian, Chet Faker (read our review of the Chet Faker Live Sessions EP released last month).

To coincide with the release of the upcoming single Say Lou Lou have released the remix by Monsieur Adi, who has previously worked with Lana Del Rey, Bastille, Swiss Lips & Laura Mvula.
