Chris Malinchak – So Good To Me (single) (French Express)
“So Good To Me” was played a few Friday nights ago during Pete Tong’s program on Radio 1 and after hearing the tune just once, we were left mesmerized.
The single by legendary New York house producer Chris Malinchak is irresistible with its silky smooth sounds, warm atmospheric pads, house grooves, and heartfelt soul vocals.
Yes, it’s all about the soul. Thanks in no small part to its genius sampling of “If This World Were Mine” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, combined with its sensual retro sounds, “So Good To Me” has an undeniable soul quality. In fact, if Marvin were around today, he’d probably be recording music just like this himself.
The composition itself is deftly produced and constructed and sounds more like the Stax Records “house band” than the work of one guy.
Gorgeous and entrancing, “So Good To Me” was released as single on 23 October, 2012 via the brilliant French Express label.
