Dog Is Dead – Teenage Daughter (single) (Atlantic Records / Warner Bros. UK)

“Teenage Daughter” is the new single lifted from ‘All Our Favourite Stories’ (cover art above), the debut album from Nottingham indie-rock/indie-pop five-piece Dog Is Dead.

Straight up, “Teenage Daughter” is an earnest indie-rock number. The quirky indie pop eccentricities exhibited in the band’s earlier work such as “Glockenspiel Song” (which was re-recorded and included on the album) are all but missing here.

Featuring one of the most truly anthemic choruses of the year with football-like chants to boot, “Teenage Daughter” is stadium-ready.

Equal parts melancholic and euphoric, “Teenage Daughter” is most reminiscent of Embrace, along with a hint of a American alternative-rock/post-grunge act, Nada Surf circa ‘Lucky’.

A possible breakthrough track for the band, “Teenage Daughter” features on the band’s album ‘All Our Favourite Stories’, which was released on October 8, 2012 and is available now.
