Bos Angeles – Tearing Your Heart Out, One String At A Time (single) (Tye Die Tapes)

“Tearing Your Heart Out, One String At A Time” is lifted from the forthcoming Bos Angeles compilation entitled ‘Taking Out The Trash.’ The cassette only compilation is made up of four unreleased EPs dating back from March 2011 to June 2012, originally planned to be the band’s debut album.

While the band name may conjure up images of sunny SoCal, Bos Angeles actually originates from the South Coast of England. In the past, the music of duo Richard Board and Ben Perry had been rather appropriately tagged ‘summery shoegaze’ and certainly in the case of “Tearing Your Heart Out, One String At A Time”, this description fits like a glove.

Propelled forward by a heavy and driving bass line, the song’s noisy and jangly surf-rock guitars contrast against its sugar-coated melodies. Combined with a shoegaze monotone vocal, “Tearing Your Heart Out, One String At A Time” boasts a post-punk vitality, and is most of reminiscent of The Jesus and Mary Chain or more recently Crocodiles.

Fun, infectious and catchy as all hell, at just 2:41 “Tearing Your Heart Out, One String At A Time” might just be THE perfect pop song.

‘Taking Out The Trash’ will be released 26 November as a limited edition cassette with just 200 copies. Pre-order Now and receive an instant download.
