The Cast of Cheers – Trucks At Night (single) (School Boy Error/ Cooperative Music)

Its been quite the year for Dublin quartet, The Cast of Cheers. The release of their debut album ‘Family’ (read our review) earlier this year saw rave reviews from NME to Sunday Times Culture and combined with a tour with Two Door Cinema Club and a slot on the NME Generation Next tour, The Cast of Cheers have proved as one of 2012’s greatest finds.

To date “Family” has spawned the hit singles “Animals” and “Human Elevator” and is about to give birth to its third single, “Trucks At Night”.

“Trucks At Night” is everything you’ve come to expect from the guys; manic speeds, frantic indie-rock guitar melodies, ample hooks, all this delivered with a post-punk urgency.

Beginning with the line “woke up in the western world as a western child and I can’t find God”, “Trucks At Night” is riddled with hooks and calls to mind The Futureheads meets Gang of Four with the catchiness of Two Door Cinema Club.

“Trucks At Night” is yet one more thrill from the band’s exhilarating debut record.

‘Family’ was released on 23rd July 2012 on School Boy Error/Cooperative Music.
